Next, establish the selection criteria for your scholarship.
The criteria of the award can be as general or as specific as you wish. Factors that are considered include academic performance, letter of recommendation, professional activities, extracurricular activities, community involvement, written statements, neatness and care in completing the application, and, in many cases, financial need.
Awards are encouraged to be open to both full-time and part-time students (less than 12 credits for undergraduates and 6 credits for graduate students), as well as undergraduate and graduate.

All scholarship donors receive personal thank you letters from student recipients and have an opportunity to meet their students at annual scholarship events.
