Merle Price Faculty Mentor-Mentee Research Award
The purpose of this fund is to provide annual financial support for the College of Arts and Human Sciences (CAHS) to nurture the growth and development of new tenure-track faculty through close involvement with senior faculty mentors. Through these guided relationships, mentor-mentee pairs will pursue one or more of the following activities jointly: collaboratively conduct and disseminate research; travel for the purpose of conducting research or presenting at national conferences; submit a professional manuscript co-authored by the mentor and mentee to professional journals or for presentation at professional conferences; submit a research-based grant proposal. Funding for mentor-mentee partners would be awarded after review of submitted proposals by senior faculty from across the college with strong backgrounds in research and professional development. Administration of the fund will be through the Dean of CAHS.
These awards shall be known as the Merle Price Awards and are intended to honor the service and mentoring of Merle Price, longtime UW-Stout Dean of Students. Merle Price affected the lives of generations of Stout students, including donors Robert and Kathleen McCord, who provide the funding of the award with great appreciation and admiration for Merle Price.
This support may be combined with other funding, such as the CAHS Collaborative Research Cohort grant, Faculty Research Initiative or Scholarship of Teaching and Learning grants. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Research Services for information about other research support and/or for assistance with development of a research program.
