Stacy Getten is a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) with over 25 years of clinical experience in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. She is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) for over 20 years. Stacy enjoyed working with patients of all disease states with a special interest in Diabetes Self-Management and Education now she shares her knowledge and experience with students who are interning into the field of dietetics. Stacy stepped into the UW-Stout Dietetic Internship Director position as of August 2024. Stacy was a preceptor for dietetic interns while she was working in all facets of her inpatient and outpatient roles. She enjoys keeping up to date with Health Care trends and sharing this information with her students.

Interests: Prediabetes, Diabetes, Gastrointestinal disorders and Pancreatic disorders, Obesity (pediatrics and adults)
Professional Interests: Professor Getten is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Dietitians in Medical Nutrition Therapy, Nutrition and Dietetic Educators and Preceptors, Diabetes Practice Groups, the Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists.
