Brief Biography
Jennifer Giesking is the Assistant Director for the McNair Scholars Program at Stout. She received her BA from Luther College in Biology, MS from Iowa State University in Exercise Science with an emphasis in physiology, and a Certificate in E-Learning from UW Stout.

Roles/Responsibilities
My duties include advising McNair Scholars on graduate applications, resume, cover letters, personal statements, GRE prep, and setting up and writing an independent thesis quality research paper. I am also involved in recruiting and promoting our program on campus. "The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program is a federally funded grant whose funds are awarded to institutions of higher education to prepare eligible participants for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. Participants are from disadvantaged backgrounds and have demonstrated strong academic potential.The goal is to increase the attainment of Ph.D. degrees by students from underrepresented segments of society." --http://www2.ed.gov/programs/triomcnair/index.html
