Kyle Schemenauer is the Director of Services at the University of Wisconsin-Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute (SVRI). In that role, Kyle supervises approximately 25 staff working in the Eligibility and Order of Selection Unit for the State of Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) program, as well as the areas of Assistive Technology and Benefits; supports data collection and program evaluation efforts to foster best practices; and conducts community outreach. He also serves as the campus business liaison for Project SEARCH, which provides work-based learning experience and career exploration to young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, by developing strong partnerships with Wisconsin DVR, Wisconsin Job Center, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, long-term care programs such as Family Care and IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct), local organizations including cooperative educational service agencies, rehabilitation organizations, and Workforce Resource, as well as other local, state, and national entities interested in collaboration. Kyle has worked in the field of human services for over 17 years in vocational and residential services as well as higher education. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Lakeland College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and an Associate degree in Criminal Justice from Chippewa Valley Technical College. Kyle enjoys sports, music, traveling, hunting, and fishing.
