Brief Biography: My professional life has included teaching in the public K-12 school system as well as at the University level. In the K-12 system I have taught students with special needs at all levels, pre-kindergarten through high school. At the college level, over the years I have taught courses in the education department, including Classroom Management, Inclusion, Transition, Cognitive Disabilities, and various Curriculum and Instruction courses. I currently serve as a case manager/academic advisor for UW-Stout's ASPIRE/Student Support Services program.

Teaching Interests: My main teaching interest is the field of special education.

Roles/Responsibilities: Responsible for advising/counseling a caseload of approximately 80 students, with the goal of improving the retention rate of students with disabilities, first generation, and low-income students; planning and facilitating an Early Bridge program, orienting incoming freshmen to college life; creating innovative lessons and teaching the department's Strategies for Academic Success course; making referrals of participants to the program's writing specialist, math specialist and tutors, counseling center, student health services, and other resources students could benefit from; facilitating communication between students and course instructors, Disability Services, and other resources; developing and giving workshops for our department on topics relevant to our students; keeping accurate and confidential records; and assisting with the development and implementation of activities to promote student persistence and growth.
