Dance Ensemble’s spring semester performance Lights, Camera, Dancin’ will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 21, and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in Harvey Hall Theatre at UW-Stout.
The Spring Dance Ensemble Recital will feature 25 dances and more than 65 student dancers. Dances include tap, lyrical, kick, hip-hop and other styles.
Tickets are $7 for the public and $5 for students. They are available online, at the UW-Stout Service Center in the Memorial Student Center, 715-232-1122, and at the door.
“All dances are choreographed by students, showing the wide variety of skills and talents of our dancers,” said Kallie Sersch, of Dodgeville, club president.
“This semester we encouraged our choreographers to pull inspiration from their favorite show-stopping performances. Many dancers picked songs from movies and musicals, while others took a different approach.”
Each performance will be about 90 minutes, with a short intermission.
Dance Ensemble, which has two shows annually, has worked throughout the spring semester on new numbers. The number of dancers per dance will vary from graduating senior solos to more than 20.
“This being my last semester at UW-Stout, my Executive Board and I have worked hard to continue to make Dance Ensemble successful on campus. It has truly been an honor representing and being a part of this club, and I will forever cherish the friends and community the club has made for me on campus. I can’t wait to see Dance Ensemble grow in the future,” Sersch said.
Sersch will graduate in May with a degree in hotel, restaurant and tourism management.
